Aunt Lou here.
I’m so excited to share this recipe with you guys! We absolutely LOVE our Crock Pot Steak Tacos around this house, so when Cris brought up that she loves making the same recipe in her Instant Pot, I knew little sister had to try it out and share it with you! This instant pot version did not disappoint!
Table of Contents
How to Make Steak Tacos in an Instant Pot
Put your steak in your 6-quart Instant Pot. In a separate bowl, mix together all of your seasonings and sprinkle them on top of your steak. Pour your water and undrained cans of tomatoes with green chiles in your Instant Pot. Cover, seal (making sure the vent is closed) and cook on Meat for 20 minutes. Let it natural release for at least 15 minutes, then quick release, if desired. Cut steak into slices or shred with two forks and serve with tomatoes and chiles and your favorite taco toppings on a taco shell, boat or taco salad!
MAKING STEAK TACOS LOW CARB
If you would like to enjoy these tacos as a part of a low carb lifestyle, you can with a few minor adjustments. As always, check your tomato products for the lowest carb counts available at your grocery store. And, secondly, skip the hard shell tacos and serve this up as a taco salad or on low carb tortillas.

What brand Instant Pot do you like? Last year, my husband and I read up on so many, and came across so many negative comments. Since then, I have been hesitant to buy one.

Hi Joanne!
We use Instant Pot (brand), Crock Pot Express and Farberware in our kitchens weekly (if not daily at times) and enjoy all of them. You can find the exact models of IP and CPE we use in our Amazon referral store: https://www.amazon.com/shop/recipesthatcrock . (We purchased the Farberware at Walmart.) Hope that helps!
We love hearing from you, it totally makes our day! Please remember, our comment section is much like our dinner table... You don't have to like everything we serve up, but you do have to use your manners.
